Meet Kathryn ‘Kit’, funeral arranger at Mareena Purslowe Funerals Midland.
Why did you become a funeral arranger?
I come from a retail background although I joined the funeral industry because I wanted to help people and wanted the opportunity to help give people proper final goodbyes.
What do you like about being a funeral arranger?
I like helping people when they don’t know how to move forward and giving them the opportunity to have a cathartic experience from a funeral.
It helps that I’m surrounded by my wonderful colleagues who always strive to make every family feel comfortable and heard.
What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
I love to sing! Sometimes when I’m alone locking up the branch at the end of the day, I’ll go around the building singing, and I always go to the front desk area as that’s the part of the building with the best acoustics.

Following the ceremony, you may choose to be bury or memorialise your loved one at Midland Cemetery which is a conveniently located 10-minute drive away from our funeral home. Other available options are Guildford Cemetery and Kenwick Pioneer Cemetery, both located a short drive away.
